About Rachael Sherer
Personal History:
- Born – Fairhope, AL 1960
- Grew up in the Eastern Shore area of Baldwin County and developed an appreciation for art, passed on to her by her mother and the community.
- Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design from the University of Alabama, 1982.
- Married since 1985 to Hayes Sherer, Also from the Eastern Shore area.
- Retired from a career as an interior designer, photographer, and graphic designer with a Mobile, AL engineering/architect firm (1982-1987) to raise children.
- Mother of two college age children whom she home schooled for six years.
- Started painting in 1999 and discovered a great love for the discipline.
- Currently resides on the Eastern Shore after living in - – South Carolina for eleven years, 1989-2000.
As an artist:
Rachael finds beauty in simple and often overlooked details. She studies her subject intensely to illustrate these features, which are reflected in her still life works. She draws inspiration from early classical artists, her family and simplicity in life style.
